Stressors agents, as poor water quality and crowding, affect the physiological condition of cultured fish and consequently, it may affect their immune system negatively resulting in susceptibility to infections and later decreased production. Trying to overcome these problems the prevention of disease, like the use of immunomodulators, seems to be more advantageous than drugs intervention. This project aims to determine the requirements of vitamin E of Salminus brasiliensis by the doses responses methodology and evaluate the vitamin E immunostimulatory activity. The trial design will be randomized with 6 treatments for crescent doses of vitamin E (0; 40; 80; 120; 160 e 200 mg kg-1). Fish will be fed with experimental diets for 90 days and the growth, hematological profile and immunological responses will be evaluated at day 0, 45th and 90th. (AU)
