Abstract

Phylogeographic analyses help clarify the origin and diversification of taxa. In the Neotropical region, particularly at the Atlantic forest, there are still relatively few studies given its wealth of biodiversity. The goal of this work is to perform a comparative phylogeographic analysis of two species of endemic passerines from the Atlantic forest, Dendrocincla turdina and Drymophila squamata, in order to suggest some hypotheses that could explain the current distribution of the genetic diversity of these species. In other words, we aim to understand which biogeographic processes could be involved in the evolutionary history of these taxa occurring in lowland areas. These data shall help us understand the evolutionary history of the Atlantic forest. (AU)
