Technological innovations at the same time assist in achieving greater profits for producers and conservation of natural resources, are of great relevance today. Thinking about it, it was decided to install an experiment to study the effect of legumes intercropped with maize for the production of dry matter and subsequently the effect on the bean with application rates of nitrogen. The project consists of two subprojects will be developed in the Experimental Farm of UNESP - Single Island. The experimental design for corn will be a randomized block design with four replications and 10 treatments formed as follows: sole corn, corn + Crotalaria spectabilis during sowing of corn, corn + Crotalaria spectabilis sown when the maize plants are 4 to 5 unfolded leaves, corn + pigeonpea sown before sowing corn, corn + pigeonpea sown when the maize plants are 4 to 5 leaves unfolded; + Estilosantes corn sown before sowing corn, corn + Estilosantes sown when the plants corn are 4 to 5 leaves unfolded; Crotalaria spectabilis, pigeonpea and Estilosantes as unique cultures. The experimental design for the beans will be randomized blocks in factorial 10x4 with treatments consisting of the cover crops and doses of nitrogen (0, 30, 60 and 90 kg N ha-1) with four replications. Will be assessed components of crop production amount of straw produced and will be the economic analysis of the two years of research.
