Calcium hydroxide is the material of choice for intracanal medication in Endodontics; this medication limits root resorption has antimicrobial activity and induces deposition of mineralized tissue. It can be associated with several vehicles to form pastes and facilitate the use. Aloe vera has an anti-inflammatory capacity and promotes repair. So, this study evaluated the biocompatibility of two calcium hydroxide and aloe vera pastes in the subcutaneous tissue of rats. For this study, fifteen male rats will use, com peso corporal entre 180-200g. Two incisions will be performed on the dorsal region of each animal for the introduction of four tubes. Two tubes will be filled with experimental pastes, one with zinc oxide-eugenol cement (positive control) and the other tube was empty (negative control). After 7, 14, and 30 days, the animals will be killed and the specimens will be submitted to his technical preparation. The histological sections, stained with hematoxylin and eosin, will be analyzed in the light microscope. Scores will be established according to the inflammatory process and statistically compared by the Tukey test (p<0.05). It is expected or not to determine the biocompatibility of the material of tissues.(AU)
