The history of land use shows that this change does not always give rise to a new sustainable ecological system, whether crops or pastures. Thus, soils and intensively used improperly lead to soil degradation. Techniques aimed at the restoration of degraded soils have been investigated. In this sense, we are studying the influence of sewage sludge in the recovery of physical attributes of a degraded soil cultivated for 10 years with eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora Hook) and Brachiaria (Brachiaria decumbens) in Selvíria, MS. The experimental design was a randomized block with six treatments and four replications. Treatments deployed in 2003 consisted of control (no use of sewage sludge and mineral fertilizers); mineral fertilizer; 30 Mg ha-1 of sewage sludge; 60 Mg ha-1 of sewage sludge, soil exposed to untreated recovery, and savannah vegetation in 2008 was conducted with the reapplication of sludge doses: 4.64 Mg ha-1 (dry basis) of biosolids and 9.28 Mg ha-1 (dry basis), respectively at 30 and 60 Mg ha-1. In the first four treatments described was planted eucalyptus and brachiaria street planting. In four soil layers, 0.00-0.05; 0.05-0.10, 0.10-0.20; of 0.20-0.40 m, will be studied attributes: soil porosity; soil density, distribution, and aggregate stability in water, penetration resistance, pH, organic matter. Alongside will be also evaluated the development of eucalyptus and Brachiaria. The results will be analyzed by performing the analysis of variance, simple correlation, and Tukey test at 5% probability for comparison of means.(AU)
