The redirection of central hearing structures in patients presented with Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD) who underwent cochlear implant surgery is unclear. Nevertheless, the research of cortical auditory evoked potential may help in understanding how the development, plasticity and the cortical function of these patients occur. This study aims at characterizing the behavior of the cortical auditory evoked potential´s P1 component, in the first months of cochlear implant use in children presented with Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder. Five children seen at the Audiological Research Center of the Craniofacial Anomalies Rehabilitation Hospital with the University of São Paulo, presented with pre-lingual hearing loss and using a cochlear implant, will participate in the project. The cortical auditory evoked potential research will be performed with the /da/ speech stimulus, presented in free field, in three distinct periods: at activation, three and six months following cochlear implant activation.
