Abstract

The neonatal period is especially critical for prematurely born infants who may present sucking and swallowing difficulty which must be addressed by their mothers and by health specialists. The objective of this retrospective study was to analyze the efficiency of sucking and swallowing of 30 premature neonates who were born and assessed by a speech pathologist in Hospital São Paulo between 2010 and 2011 and associate. It to different characteristics of neonates including their weight at birth.(AU)
