The hero and the valet at the mythologic plays of Antônio José da Silva: example to a analyse guide of theatrical plays.

Abstract

This project takes as paradigm the mythological thematic plays written by Portuguese-Brazilian playwright Antônio José da Silva. It aims to contribute either to develop or to systematize a reading model analysis of theater plays under classic models emulation. Such analysis model seeks a dramatic style hybrid process study that encompasses and allows the dialog between two different knowledge fields of theatrical process: Literature and Theater. Based on text and scene relations studies; greek myths readings made by Antônio José and; the Portuguese scenic preceptive and practices of the beginning XVIII century and its influences, we seek to present a whole frame that supports that these days in vogue hypothesis of knowledge separation, between Literature and Theater it is not enough to develop an analysis of ancient plays elaborated from this emulation. In this sense, Antonio Jose is in a space temporal moment of thought about textual elaboration, but still following previous patterns established, previous to the Enlightenment and French Revolution thoughts. Our seeking is to a better reading, comprehension and analysis of ancient dramatic texts.
