Abstract

From a set of modern homes built in the city of São Paulo in the 1950s and 1970s, the research aims to examine the relationship between architects and their clients, their expectations, negotiations and conflicts. In this set of relationships between creator and clients, cross the desires of social distinction crystallized in lifestyles, in political utopias and the aesthetic ambitions of a group of intellectuals of the period. This perspective of analysis allows for an understanding of the social conditions of production of modern architecture in Sao Paulo.
