Abstract

This work proposes studies to obtain ceramic powders for subsequent deposition in multilayer thin films in order to obtain thin films with relevant optical properties. The ceramic powders to be used in the thin films production will be produced via conventional method of solid state reaction (SSR). The thin films will be performed by the Pulsed Laser Deposition method (PLD). The attainment of the multilayer films occurs through three stages, depositing a lanthanum nickelate layer (LaNiO3) on a Si substrate (100); deposition a barium titanate layer (BaTiO3) on the LaNiO3 layer, and deposition a potassium niobate layer (KNbO3) on BaTiO3 layer. The films structures will be investigated by the X-ray diffraction technique. A morphological study will be carried out using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), allowing homogeneity and thickness of the films prepared. The optical property of the resulting thin film will be studied through photoluminescence emission (PL) measurements. The results will be correlated from PL emissions and structural and morphological properties of thin films. (AU)
