This research project considers the theoretical analysis and computational implementation of two metaheuristics known in operations research, applied to problem of expansion planning of transmission systems of electric power. The proposal is to make theoretically analyze and formulate a specialized version metaheurístca of GRASP with Path relinking metaheuristic and Particle Swarm Optimization to solve of transmission network expansion planning problem. This project considers the research activities being developed by a scholar from PhD for a year to visit a center of excellence in mathematical optimization,that is, the Center for Applied Optimization Industrial and Systems Engineering Department University of Florida in the United States of America.
