Abstract

Antonio Rodrigo Silva (* 1994) is a graduate student (entry in 2011) in the Bachelor of Instrument (Piano) by the Department of Music FFCLRP-USP. He has demonstrated excellent performance not only in interpretive practices but also stands out for his exceptional ability to perceive. He has perfect pitch, musical memory above average and excellent rhythmic security, expressive musicianship, and fast learning. Finally, he has a positive difference in my disciplines (Harmony and Fundamental Concepts of Music), with high academic performance and strong potential for research. The support and assistance of the student Antônio Rodrigo Silva through a Scientific Initiation project in my research (keeping in view the future publication of a book of functional harmony) in this specific topic that deals with "Pre-Classic Cadence" (hypothesis work here first raised) will be productive not only for his good academic development, but also will be important in the compilation of historical and musicological data and collecting examples of musical literature around the issue, and even in the formulation and execution of exercises. That is, this "Iniciação Cientifica" (SI) by FAPESP will surely be doubly rewarding: first, to serve as graduate research on that he can work in an editorial project and research like this, which is sure to pose a considerable increase in his academic experience and as there is a clear potential for learning course on his part in these activities. On the other hand, in second place, will also be productive for guiding me, because I have a talented assistant to assist me in preparing this general topic in my book, which will certainly contribute to successful publishing. The results of this work will be sent for publication in Music Theory magazines, inside and outside Brazil, co-authored by the supervisor and the coaching. Prof. Dr. Russomanno Rubens Ricciardi (Professor of FFCLRP-USP).(AU)
