Abstract

Nod-like receptor (NLR) are receptor of the innate immunity related to screening the intracellular environment, recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) or damage to the host. Once activated, NLRs can form inflammasomes, multiprotein platforms involved in the activation of caspase-1 and, subsequently, proinflammatory cytokines IL-1² and IL-18.NLRs and Inflammasomes activities have been linked to several pathophysiological processes, such as diabetes, obesity and infectious diseases (bacterial, viral and fungal). Particularly for mycoses, literature support a significant role for the inflammasomes in the shaping of the adaptive immunity (protective responses Th1 and Th17).Trichophyton rubrum is the main agent of dermatophytosis, cutaneous mycoses that compromise keratinized tissues (skin, hair and nails). However, little is known about the immune response involved in the disease. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the participation in the pathogenesis of this infection inflamassome. (AU)
