Abstract The aim of this study is to study the production of jets generated by the hard scattering of heavy quarks (charm and bottom) in heavy ion collisions at relativistic energies. We will analyze the data from experiment ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment), which is a unique collaboration of the new LHC (Large Hadron Collider) of the Organisation Européenne pour la Recherches Nucléaires (CERN) designed primarily for the study of collisions between heavy ions relativistic. This study will be conducted based on the reconstruction of jets using an approach recently developed by our research group in collaboration with the Relativistic Heavy Ion Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. This project is part of a broader program of study of our research group on the production of heavy quarks and their energy loss in quark-gluon plasma formed in relativistic heavy ion collisions.
