Abstract

The quest for standardization and optimization of hormone levels is critical to the viability of fish semen, and one of the tools used for semen analysis is the evaluation of semen characteristics. The best semen quality is closely connected with the freezing of semen, semen because the better the better the results obtained after frozen semen. One of the problems that are currently for this method of freezing on the type of extender solution used in the technique, as this can cause injuries in the sperm cells, leading to deformation and viability of thawed sperm. Because of this, currently seeks to improve the cryopreservation technique for obtaining better results for the freezing of semen. For the technique of cryopreservation of fish semen is an effective way to improve the artificial breeding, genetic manipulation for facilitating the selection of breeding stock, allowing the establishment of gene banks, useful in the breeding programs and genetic conservation of endangered species extinction Therefore, this proposal aims at improving the hormonal induction technique for reproduction of Brycon cephalus, and develop methods of freezing and thawing to preserve the integrity and viability of sperm cells.
