Abstract

The organic silicon compounds have wide applications in organic synthesis. For example, these compounds can be used in protection reactions, the formation of double bonds, and cross-coupling reactions. Although organo-silanes have a well-established role in synthetic organic chemistry, the number of studies involving biocatalyzed enantioselective reactions is still small. It is known that alkoxysilanes can undergo oxidative cleavage of Si-C bonds using peroxide or peracids. In addition, reports in the literature indicate that mono-oxygenases are able to act as catalysts in oxidation reactions involving different substrates. Furthermore, it is known that alkoxy silanes undergo hydrolysis by serine proteases and lipases. However, the enantioselective reactions of these compounds have not been studied. These findings motivated us to propose reactions involving alkoxy silanes, catalyzed by mono-oxygenases, serine proteases and lipases, and then study the reactivity of these compounds with different enzymes.(AU)
