Abstract

The purpose of this Scientific Initiation is to characterize the isotopic composition of Pb from different pyrite generations that occur associated with gold mineralization of the Deposit Engenho d'Água, located in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero in Minas Gerais. The rocks of study are metasedimentary of the upper unit of the Nova Lima Group. The analytical techniques to be used are focused on the petrographic characterization of the ore and host rocks and the isotopic analysis of sulfide minerals by the Pb-Pb method in order to define and characterize the different pyrite generations, for the establishment of a correlation between them, the nature of the sources of their fluids generators and possibly their ages. After this characterization aims to link the stages of hydrothermal circulation with the main term tectonics events recognized in the study area. (AU)
