Abstract

Considering that the aim of the current project is to study the performative aspect of the voice in the processes of musical creation generated from the investigation of vocal resources, the proposal of this research phase is to focus on issues related to the influence of new media and technologies and on the resulting transformation of the voice in the context of artistic manifestations. Aspects related to the split between voice and body and the emergence of a disembodied voice will be addressed. In this context, there will also be considered the ability of the voice to move through different media, how it is present in new artistic forms such as sound installations, and how the relation between voice and technology cooperates to the rise of a new artistic form - the Vocal Performance Art. Further, the project proposes to develop the concept of "globalized voice", discussing the characteristics of a voice, which results from the fusion of diverse languages and cultures and can lead to the dissolution of boundaries, transforming the perception and stimulating new ways of listening.
