The research´s objective is to study, in the point of view of theatricality, the celebration "Triunfo Eucarístico", that happened in Vila Rica, Minas Gerais, in 1733.The religious and civic festivity celebrated the transference of the blessed sacrament from Rosario´s Church to the matrix, Pilar´s Church and was related by Simão ferreira Machado, resident of Minas, and published in Lisbon, in 1734. The celebration is a spectacular phenomenon structured by processions, theatre and musical performances, dances, public speeches and prayers. The study wants to understand this complex of performances (produced by a religious fraternity) in the point of view of the relations between theatre forms and culturals formations.The starting point will be the study of the triumph as a spectacular european gender multiform, constituted by many elements. From this point, the work will try to comprehend the process in which this forms aclimatised in Brazil. The festivity has the aim to discuss important questions of the scenic production of XVIII century, always related with religion and politics from the period.This work aims to constitute the celebration in a perspective of performing arts through historical researches, analysis of theatre and historical texts and the barroco´s moviment in which the party is contextualized. The study of the theatre forms linked to this happening can provide material for a better comprehension of the caracteristics not many studieds of the colonial theatre of XVIII century in Brazil.
