Abstract

In order to assist in the prevention and treatment of sensitivity in non-carious lesions, this study aims to evaluate the potential of a gel containing flavonoids in reducing dentin permeability in vitro. Fifty crowns in 3os human molars will be used, which will have their roots sectioned and the coronal pulp removed. Next, the teeth will be divided into 05 groups of 10 elements each (without agents gel, Flavonoid gel, fluoride acidic gel 1.23% and base gel). The tested gels are applied on the occlusal surface of crowns prepared and the teeth are then tested for hydraulic conductance using Flodec, according to the following sequence: 1. in the presence of smear layer on the occlusal side, representing the minimum permeability 2. in the absence of smear layer, after etching with phosphoric acid to 37% for 1 minute to obtain the maximum permeability 3. after the application of one of the solutions tested in the occlusal surface for 4 minutes, 4. after applying the gel citric acid to 6% for 1 minute to verify the effectiveness of the gels. The results of the hydraulic conductance will be analyze by variance for two criteria, with a significance level of 5% applied to average values, identifying the differences between groups and within groups. Individual differences will be determined by Duncan's multiple test, also at the level of significance of 5%. (AU)
