Abstract According to the World Health Organization, overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health. The prevalence of this public health problem has been growing worldwide, even in developing countries. The overweight pregnant woman is at risk for several complications including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, operative delivery, among others. Our hypothesis is that the quality of life of overweight pregnant women will be worse than normal weight women due to the discomforts directly related to their biotype, as well as worries related to the risks that she faces, especially in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Although there are a few previous publications analyzing some of these aspects individually, we did not find any study that simultaneously analyzed the quality of life, sleep quality, depression and sexual function of overweight pregnant women. The objective of this study is to analyze these aspects in overweight compared to normal weight pregnant women. This will be an observational, analytical and cross-sectional study comparing these two groups of women managed at the antenatal clinics of UNIFESP-EPM.This study aims to assess and compare the quality of life, quality of sleep, depression and sexual function of overweight and normal weight pregnant women in the second and third trimesters using validated questionnaires (WHOQOL-Bref, PSQI-Br Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index, BDI - Beck Depression Inventory and FSFI-Female Sexual Function Index). 2) To compare the final scores questionnaires between both groups. | |
