Abstract

In Brazil, citrus production has significant numbers that reflect the major economic and social activity has for the economy, such as: 1 million hectares of planted area and fruit production that exceeds 19 million tons, the highest in world a few years ago. The numbers are also significant as the intensive use of herbicides, including glyphosate and deltamethrin. The deltamethrin ((S)-±-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (1R, 3R) -3 - (2,2-dibromovinil) - 2,2-dimetilciclopropanocarboxilato) is a pyrethroid that acts by contact or ingestion. Glyphosate, N-(phosphonomethyl)-glycine, is belonging to the group of glycine replaced it promotes post-emergent, systemic, and non-selective. This project intends to validate the methodology for the determination of deltamethrin and evaluate the toxicity of glyphosate and deltamethrin in soils with earthworms (Eisenia foetida). Earthworms are used for evaluation of soil contamination for several reasons: they ingest large quantities of soil, demonstrating the capacity for accumulation of pollutants at bay, and a viable alternative to the achievement of ecotoxicological tests, also because they are simple organisms being studied. The parameters for validation of deltamethrin are linearity and application range, precision, accuracy, detection limit and quantification limit, and robustness. Glyphosate shall be determined according to the methodology previously validated in this laboratory.(AU)
