Abstract

The climatic aspects in Ribeira Valey harm the thermal comfort conditions to the animals, including buffaloes, especially in hottest months of the year. The studies about thermal comfort can optimize the buffaloes production and give more income to small dairy buffaloes farmers. Thus, only the cientific research together to the pratical experience of the producers can give a management protocol to the bufalloes production. In this way, the objective of this work will be evaluate the thermoregulatory response of dairy buffaloes in three different places: pasture, prebilling room and post milking. The experiment will be carried out in Development and Research Unit (UPD) of APTA. The experiment will be complete randomized block design. Fifteen Murrah buffalo cows in the same age will be used and will be collected physiological variables such as respiratory rate, skin temperature using infrared thermometer and thermographic images, milk production, and environmental variables such as black globe temperature, dry bulb and wet bulb temperature and air velocity.
