In this work will be developed new architectures of biosensors using nanomaterials. This project is divided in two parts: i) medicine application to determine cardiac diseases and ii) environmental samples, to detect some pollutants. In this context, nanostructured materials will be immobilized with the biological material of interest with the objective to improve the analytical response. Nanomaterials as metallic nanoparticles, magnetic nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes and graphene are excellent to biosensors development, which can increase the response of enzymatic products. It will be studied some characteristics, including the kinetics of enzymatic reactions, the electrons mediators, retention of enzymatic activity and the stability of each biosensor. It will be developed biosensors for cardiac troponin detection, a type of protein which is related to cardiac diseases when in high levels. Moreover, it will be also proposed biomimetic or nanostructured biosensors in presence of interest enzyme for pesticides and/or phenolic compounds determination in wastewater and natural water samples.
