Abstract

Clinically, there are many renal diseases with progressive nature, resulting in renal failure and need replacement therapy. Even with the advance of medicine in recent decades, the incidence and mortality of these diseases remain high, and the treatment is restricted to dialysis or kidney transplants. So, development of new effective therapeutic strategies becomes essential, and the use of animal models that simulate the clinical manifestations of kidney disease in humans is necessary. Still, because of the serious consequences of the progression of renal disease, alternative forms of therapy are needed, and this field is growing interest in stem cell treatment. Adult mesenchymal stem cells have demonstrated immunomodulatory and regenerative potential for kidney disease. More readily available and higher reparative potential, mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue (ASC) become potential therapeutic targets. Thus, in this work, we intend to study the mechanisms that involve the protection of the kidney tissue by ASC, resulting in less disease progression in experimental models in vivo and in vitro. (AU)
