Abstract

Drought is a major abiotic stress in plants and affects the productivity of sugarcane. Our research group has identified several miRNA repressed by drought in sugarcane plants grown in the field, indicating that their targets have increased expression in this condition. This project aims to produce transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana overexpressing a sugarcane gene that is a target of a miRNA identified in our studies.(AU)
