Quantum mechanics is a very successful theory and has a prominent position in the history of physics. However, there were great debates about the completeness of quantum theory and its interpretations, mainly due to the collapse of the wave function and how it takes place in the experiment. In 1964 it was created the Bell inequalities which would test the locality and reality of quantum theory, but only around the 80's, it was possible to prove that quantum theory violates these inequalities, implying a non-local character for this theory. Because of this character, after intensive research, appeared some extremely interesting processes and useful for real applications in technology such as cryptography, teleportation, and quantum computing. However, recently, due to imperfections in the detectors used in the experiments, questions arose about the security of some quantum cryptographic protocols. For example, recently it was demonstrated the breach of security of a given protocol of quantum cryptography using faked states. Also using these faked states, it was shown that it is possible to simulate a violation of Bell inequalities using fully classical systems. With this project, we will study the main protocols of quantum cryptography and teleportation, and the loopholes that may occur in these protocols. We will also develop a more detailed study about attacks of faked states, aiming to investigate a possible quantum teleportation protocol involving only faked states.(AU)
