Abstract

In this project, we intend to study at an introductory level two ways in which quantum computing can be formulated. At first, we study the traditional way of doing quantum computation, known as the circuit model of quantum computation, which is based on logic circuits and reversible digital logic. Then we will study adiabatic quantum computation, an equivalent but alternative way to process quantum information. Finally, we wish to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both formulations through a comparative study between them.(AU)
