Abstract

My subject is the human being/ not hidden behind his violin / But that naked with his "split-bamboo voice" / And full of hope. Considering the diversity to which the musical practices are nowadays submitted, and the potential possibilities of cultural transfers through choral singing -- understood as a institution of transference -- this project aims the formation of an amateur choral group during the 2012-2013 school year, formed by students from all UN2 schools and institutes and open to the general population of the cities of Nancy and Luneville, having as a strategy the preparation and public presentation of a program consisting solely of a Brazilian cappella choral music. This project also includes a bibliography program that will cover Cultural History/Music, as indicated by the supervisor, concerning cultural transfers in music, the porosity of the borders between different styles, eras and genres, amateur musical practice, classical and popular music; institutions of transfers (choirs, orféons, fanfares and bands); lines of demarcation; cultural industry so as to ensure an in-depth study on issues that are on the agenda with regard to the music of today. This post-doctoral internship also has the aim of collaboration with research groups of the supervisor (CERCLE and NAFTES), in order to establish an exchange between the Music Department of FFCL-USP and UN2, whose action began to be taken when it still belonged to the ECA Department of Sao Paulo. The formation of a Choeur des Frontières UN2 - la musique chorale brésilienne a cappella, whose rehearsals will be held in the chapel of the Lunéville castle (near Nancy) during the 2012-13 school year, work as a lab where they will meet a universe of Brazilian songs. This work will engender discussion and possible joint publication with Mr. Francfort. From September 2012, will be announced the formation of the Choeur Transferts UN2 with the poster: "Vous voulez exprimer votre passion du collectif chant! Aimez brésilienne vous la musique!
