Abstract

With more than seventy years of existence, the Pedagogical course has passed trough some curricular reformulations, forming from specialists to teachers. Such reformulations have brought to the Pedagogical course a certain lack of definition about its professional identity, as presented by the available literature. Throughout its trajectory, there can be noticed in the pedagogical courses curricula some disciplines related to the área of mathematics education: in the beginnings of the course, we find the disciplines Educational Statistics and Complements of Mathematics. Gradually, such disciplines have lost their space in the Pedagogy curriculum, giving their place, after a while, to the Methodology of Mathematics Teaching, a discipline that is at present offered to the Pedagogy courses. The present research project has a goal of analyzing the historical path of the Mathematics Education as well as researching the participation that the Mathematics Education has assumed in the Pedagogy Courses Curricula, taking as basis the three institutions of higher education in the São Paulo State. (USP, UNICAMP and PUC-SP). In order to accomplish such study, we use as methodology of research the documental analysis and oral history. The documental analysis will be done based on curricula and course programs, text books, written tests and students' notebooks. The oral history will be done through interviews with professors and ex-professors as well as with students and ex-students of the referred to disciplines. (AU)
