Abstract

Considering the urban area as the center of the experience of the majority world's population and all the relationships within it, the city is the highest expression of human action. These actions are not carried out evenly throughout the territory, outlining thus dotted line, differentiated, disorganized, and often exclusionary. From this finding, and understanding the climate as one aspect of analyzing the structure of urban space, this study aims to compare data on temperature, relative humidity, and wind direction and speed between the city and its surroundings in the city of Paranavaí / PR, as well as identify differences within the city, relating them to different uses and occupations of soil and buildings materials. The data of temperature and relative humidity were recorded by automatic weather stations such as "Vantage PRO 2" brand "Davis Instruments" features installed in areas of urban and rural environments during the period July to December of 2008. These data will be organized in the form of graphs and tables. Still, be used letters of surface temperature produced by Landsat 7 and treated in Idrisi software. Thus, the results obtained in this study may aid in the understanding of the urban climate of the city in question, and bolster possible spatial planning policies in order to contribute to the improvement of environmental quality.(AU)
