Abstract

Cellulose membranes will be prepared containing nanoparticles compounds with lanthanide ions Yb3+ - Er3+ showing properties to convert infrared energy to visible and consequent activation of photosensitive drugs derived from phthalocyanine. The emission properties will be optimized and the membranes thus prepared will be tested as sensitizing photoactivated processes with the aim of applications in biological systems. In this work, the membranes will be tested in the process of photodynamic therapy (PDT).
