The teaching of Philosophy in Brazil: the reception and its debate in the Brazilian periodicals

Abstract

This present research analyzes the problem: which is the reception of debate about the teaching of philosophy in the Brazilian periodicals and how was the debate on this theme? Such question arises its importance with the suspicion that the productions upon this them were short in the country. We have the hypothesis that the discussion about the teaching of philosophy in Brazil was put in four different ways:(1) the understanding of the relevance of the teaching of philosophy for the society, the culture, and the critical formation of the man; (2) the reflection about the themes and contents for the teaching and about the grade; (3) of the search for an understanding of the teaching of the philosophy methodology; (4) and the search to open a new way for the teaching of philosophy: The philosophy for (with) children. So, our goal in this research is to verify if this hypothesis is true having as the object of analyzing the mapping of ten Brazilian periodicals published in Brazil from 1930 until 2008 - when the Brazilian law 11.648/08 which was published has established the obligation of the Philosophy discipline in the Brazilian High School. We understand that this mapping would drive to a better comprehension of what eventually has been thought about the teach and learn of the philosophy in Brazil as well the conditions to inquiry on contemporary.(AU)
