Abstract

This project aims a study the behavior of structures aporticadas filled with masonry panels, bracing for the end of buildings. Visa considers the stiffness of the masonry filling the porch for analysis of horizontal actions, such as wind. For your consideration, there are different methodologies in the literature to replace masonry with a slash, but there is no universally accepted method. The width of the diagonal is not considered to be a consensus among researchers. In order to prove the increase in stiffness when considering the masonry fill, is proposed for modeling a real building, considering or ignoring the stiffness of the masonry structure and the bracing of changing different variables to analyze the distribution of effort. A complete analysis will be made in checking blind walls, consideration or not the wedging and varying types of blocks used (concrete and ceramic), and varying the compressive strength of these blocks. The comparative results of the analysis are presented and highlight the gains obtainable with the inclusion of wall fill the porticoes. This research, therefore, aims to study the possibility of including the masonry filling in the design of buildings, to assess the increase in stiffness that masonry can provide, and to determine if the model is reliable compressed diagonals to reality and finally to propose criteria for design.
