To silence and to not speak: ways of unconcious manifestation in the "Signorelli´s Forgetting"

Abstract

To conceive silence as constitutive of language is a way to place oneself between what can, and what cannot be said. This makes possible to the analyst to think about uncomplete character of the subject´s constitution as well as that of language. From this perspective, silence may be object of analysis, if we consider its peculiar way of signifying. Both psychoanalysis and discourse analysis can approached within the perspective of silence: in the first, we find a polarization between sileo and taceo, related to the movement and unconscious dynamics while in the latter we have Orlandi's typology (1992), namely: local, constitutive and fouding. The relationship between these two approaches promotes an enrichment in the theory - development of conceptual relationships - and in the practice - development of analysis gadgets, clinical listening.Together with a theorical research, our corpus is formed by three different versions of Freud´s "Signorelli´s Forgetting" and a letter that Freud wrote to Fliess about the forgetting of the name of the poet Julius Mossen. The analysis, associated with the theoretical framework, will make it possible to search for the multiplicity of meanings and also to establish a dialogue between discourse analysis and some concepts of psychoanalysis.
