Recommendations for the opaque envelope of residential buildings in São Carlos, SP

Abstract

The main goal of research is to analyze the combined influence of thermal transmittance of opaque envelope (walls and roofs) and other parameters that affect the thermal performance of residential buildings for low-income population in Sao Carlos, SP. Next to thermal transmittance, the other parameters are the area of glazing, solar gain, natural ventilation and color of exterior surfaces, among others. It is intended to make comparative analysis of projects using computer simulation, analyzing the influence of the transmittance of the envelope and other parameters. Thus, there will be a comparison of thermal transmittance studied with the rules prescribed by the currents standards and regulations (NBR 15220, NBR 15575 and RTQ-R), analyzing the adequacy of the indication for this form of property in those documents, which are limited to values maximum. Thus, the aim is to improve the recommendations and requirements provided by the current standards and regulations (NBR 15220, NBR 15575 and RTQ-R).
