Beyond links: dialogues between digital and printed mass media

Abstract

The present project aims to find out the signs of the digital media translation inside cultural texts developed by journalism. The hypothesis in this research is that the production of digital media are cultural texts that are in synergy and in dialogue with other kind of cultural texts. The objective of this project is to investigate the modelization process of internet about printed mass media because of the emerging digital media. In addition, the project aims to understand the resignification used in editorial products of the printed mass media field. Considering the concept of modelization how it were developed by russian semiotic theory this research hopes understad the dynamic skill of the culture to create language and codification systems developing new semiosis in different contexts specially in Communication scope. Both the problem and the object of the research need a study in the field of comprehension of signs due to their particular nature. For this reason the research will have methodology support of Semiotics of Culture from the Tartu-Moscow School of Semiotics. Moreover, for this research to belong in Communication sphere and journalism studies it should consider the theories of this field, discussing the histories researchs and recent Communication theories. Another debate included in this project involves theories reflections about digital media to situate the problems of this field in your particular scope.
