Abstract

There is a consensus among researchers that the comics books (CB) have arisen in prehistoric rock paintings. For being, initially, a mass product, the comic books are still suffering great prejudice and censorship, both in academy and outside it. The recent opening for the comics in the university allowed connecting with the public and various themes, from the traditional genre of superheroes to a lot more complex topics like politics, religion and philosophy. Currently, in the so-called Information Age, due to the high value of employee knowledge, it creates the need to obtain information quickly through reliable sources. With the popularity of japanese culture, thanks to the manga (comics books of Japanese origin) and anime (Japanese cartoon), there was an increase in the search for information about japanese customs. This study aims to investigate and identify on the mangas published in Brazil, through Bakhtin's theoretical and methodological assumptions, elements that add to it the value of reference material to japanese culture. Through the precepts of discourse analysis on Bakhtin's polyphony, enunciation and speech genres, will be investigated textual elements, graphics (glossaries, footnotes, words and situations) and imagistic discourses contained in japanese comic books published in Brazil to facilitate the transmission of specialized information about japanese culture, contributing to studies on the expressions of language, the dissemination of reliable information and assistance in cultural communication.
