The aim of this study is to analyze the bonding strength between a heat cured acrylic resin (Vipiwave) and a hard chairside rebase material (Tokuyama rebase fast II) considering some factors that promote union like: bonding agents, microwave irradiation and thermical and mechanical cycle. Were established twelve groups (n=10), and will be made some cylindrical shaped specimens (4x4mm) in acrylic resin polymerized by microwave irradiation. After polymerization the specimens it will be polished and the superficial area treated with Tokuyama Rebase II adhesive, a crosslink agent (Connector) or methilmetacrilate monomer and then rebased. Some specimens with 4x8mm will be immersed in distilled water (200ml) and treated in a microwave oven cycle (3min/650W). Another group will receive a thermal and mechanical cycling (10.000 cycles/1Htz and 5.000 thermal cycles 5º e 65º). All specimens will be submitted to shear test, with speed 5mm/min and then analyzed in fractured area. Fourier spectrophotometer (FTIR) analysis will be made in cylindrical shape specimens (6x6mm) and divided in two groups (treated and untreated by microwave irradiation) for residual monomer quantification. Results will be submitted to statistical analyses ANOVA and Tukey (5%) (AU)
