Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common disorder in the clinic for small animals. Ketoanalogues amino acids are deaminated, and they do not contain nitrogen and do not generate nitrogen co-products, which have to be eliminated by the kidneys. It's still a little-used drug in veterinary medicine due to its high cost. This study aims to evaluate clinical and laboratory animals with CKD treated with Ketoanalogues, using a smaller dose than that suggested by the literature and assessment of the contribution of Ketoanalogues, with a smaller dose than that suggested by the literature, in the treatment of animals with CKD. The animals will be treated with a nutraceutical comprising essential amino acids and Ketoanalogues. Group I (control): animals submitted to conventional treatment for CKD and renal disease patients to commercial feed. Group II: animals submitted to conventional treatment for CKD, commercial diets for renal disease, and cetoanálogos at a dose of half a tablet for each 5kg, given every 24 hours for 30 days. Group III: animals submitted to conventional treatment for CKD, commercial diets for renal disease, and Ketoanalogues at a dose of half a tablet for each 5kg, given every 48 hours for 30 days. Will be conducted three clinical and laboratory evaluations, the first at the beginning of treatment, the second after 15 days of treatment, and the third 30 days after starting treatment. We will determine the hematological, and biochemical profile (creatinine, urea, albumin, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, and potassium). Urinalysis will be performed to check the protein and the protein-to-creatinine ratio.(AU)
