Abstract

The objective of this research is to test the possibility to estimate the rutting potential of some hot mix asphalt (HMA) by means of compaction curves investigation resulting from Superpave Gyratory Compactor (SGC). Volumetric parameters from compaction curves will be acquired and compared to creep test results. It expected that the study can (a) contribute to the comprehension about rutting development, (b) estimate the rutting potential by means of compaction curves from SGC, and (c) qualify and quantify the effect of volumetric parameters on HMA rutting potential.
