Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the biomechanical behavior of implant-support single screwed protheses installed in the posterior mandible on the distribution of stresses and strains in the complex bone-implant-prosthesis by nonlinear three-dimensional finite element analysis. With the help of SolidWorks Premium 2010 will be built virtually thirty-two three-dimensional models consisting of implant-supported single screwed prothesis. These models will be installed on the mandibular bone tissue modeled by tomographic images. The study factors will be the prosthetic platform (external or internal hexagon), the UCLA abutments for prosthesis non-segmented and conical abutments for prothesis segmented, the time of prosthetic loading (load immediate or delayed loading), the incidence of occlusal load (normal or traumatic) and type of esthetic recovering material(ceramic or acrylic resin). Analysis of the distribution of stress and strain will be performed at Ansys Workbench ® software with 200N of loading. The values of maximum principal stress and strain in cortical and trabecular bone tissue and the and the values of von Mises stress and strain in implants, abutments and prosthetic retaining screws will be obtained and evaluated using descriptive statistics and analysis of variance.
