Abstract

The goal is to determine the prevalence of low back pain in individuals 60 years or more of areas covered by the Family Health Strategy "Vila Sao Paulo" in the city of Bauru, São Paulo, and its association with demographic and socioeconomic variables relating to work, lifestyle and morbidity. Sampling will be by cluster in two stages, and the sample size will be 360 seniors. To collect the data will be interviewed, at home, using the following instruments: 1. Characteristics of participants (demographic, socioeconomic, work-related, lifestyle and morbidity), 2. Musculoskeletal symptoms in the questionnaire - Nordic questionnaire for the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms. The associations between musculoskeletal symptoms (ME) and demographic, socioeconomic, work-related, lifestyle, and morbidity will be studied through the prevalence ratios and factors associated with ME symptoms obtained by tuning a multivariate logistic regression model.(AU)
