Abstract The study aims identifying the impact of hospital accreditation programs in nursing services, and identify the impact of hospital accreditation program in the Nursing Department of Alberta University Hospital using methodologies such as systematic review of literature and case study. The question for systematic review is: What is the impact of accreditation program in nursing services? For implementation of the review will be prepared a specific protocol and for the case study will review audit reports and management reports of the accreditation of the Alberta University Hospital and nursing service for the last five years using a specific instrument to systematize the data. The researcher too shall participate as an observer in meetings held by the office of quality nursing service of the institution during the period of data collection in October 2011 to January 2012.
