Abstract

This undergraduate research project is part of a bigger project entitled SENA Project - Autonomous Embedded Navigation System that aims the development of assistive and autonomous systems that can be embedded in vehicle in order to increase the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. In this project proposal, the student will use the MatLab platform to develop routines to detect routes (both in urban and on highways areas) by collected images through a monocular camera previously calibrated and assembled on a test vehicle. For this it will use the images segmentation method known as growing regions and genetics algorithms implementation to optimize the parameters involved in the routines. It is expected with the development of this project take another step toward the use of artificial vision systems embedded in passenger vehicles with assistive systems
