Temporal Resolution in people with Migraine.

Abstract

Migraine is one of the most common neurological diseases and, taking into account that it is relevant to evaluate the central auditory function in individuals with disorders of the central nervous system since it aids in the diagnosis and rehabilitation, this study aims at analyzing the behavior of temporal resolution in individuals with neurological diagnosis of migraine. Thirty individuals diagnosed with migraine will be observed (15 with aura and 15 without aura) - group with migraine -, and 15 individuals of same age group with normal audibility and lack of diagnosis or history of migraine and other disabilities - comparison group - will be formed. Data will be collected through routine clinical examinations of audiological evaluation of peripheral and central auditory function. In addition, the behavior of temporal resolution specifically will be studied through the GAP-IN-NOISE test, commonly referred to as "TESTE GIN" in Portuguese. It is expected that the central auditory processing tests will contribute to the accurate diagnosis and proper rehabilitation of people who suffer from migraine.
