Abstract

Systemic lúpus erytematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that predominantly affects women of childbearing age. Affects multiple organs and lead the individual to death Adult and pediatric patients with SLE have the same clinical characteristics, although children have a more severe course of disease and aggressive, and may have different signs and symptoms early in the illness. The quality of sllep in patients with SLE is very little studied, and has great importance, since a poor quality of sleep leads to disorders such as daytime fatigue and mood changes. Patients with SLE are more likely to sleep fragmentation, due to factors such as depression, nocturnal episodes of pain with no specific origin, associated with neurodegenerative symptoms, shortness of breath, sweating, palpitations and use of medications such as prednisone. We will use Index of Pittsburg Sleep Quality questionnaire to evaluate the quality of sleep of patients, and compare with healthy controls.
