Abstract

The present study aims to verify the validity of a specific test anaerobic evaluation (TAAMMA) for mixed martial arts fighters (MMA). Ten MMA fighters males aged 18 to 35 years, will be submitted to anthropometric assessment test, incremental effort to determine the maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), maximum accumulated oxygen deficit (MAOD) and Wingate (W ) for upper limbs (MAODMS; WMS) and lower (MAODMI; WMI). Initially (1 and 2 days) will take anthropometric measurements and assessment to determine the maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max). In the five days following the fighters held in ten cycle ergometer submaximal efforts, in random order, with intensities between 50 and 95% of the intensity of exercise at VO2max (iVO2max) for lower limbs (iVO2maxMI) and above (iVO2maxMS). On the 7th and 8th day will be held two supra-maximal efforts to volitional exhaustion with intensity corresponding to 120% of iVO2max. In the 9th and 10th and will perform the WMS WMI. To check the reproducibility of the data after a rest period of 48 hours fighters held TAAMMA again. For comparison and possible associations between the parameters of the situation TAAMMA test and re-test will be used Student's t test for dependent samples and Pearson correlation test, respectively. The agreement of the values from the situation in TAAMMA test re-test will also be checked. The Pearson correlation test will still be used to verify the possible associations between parameters from the TAAMMA, values and MAOD Wingate for upper and lower limbs. In all cases the level of significance will be pre-set for P <0.05. (AU)
