In the population with Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum and user of the cochlear implant (CI), the characteristics inherent in this type of hearing impairment may provide additional challenges for the development of more complex auditory skills, such as the perception of speech sounds in the presence of noise. Thus, this study aims to investigate speech perception in competitive noise of children with sensorineural hearing loss with auditory neuropathy spectrum of cochlear implant. This is a prospective longitudinal study being conducted in Audiological Research Center (CPA) of the Hospital of Craniofacial Anomalies, University of Sao Paulo in Bauru (HRAC / USP-Bauru), to be held in the behavioral assessment and evaluation Auditory Perception of Speech in the presence of noise by using the Hearing in Noise Test (Hearing in Noise Test - HINT), proposed by Nilsson et al. (1994) and adapted to Portuguese by BEVILACQUA et al. (2008). The results will be statistically analyzed and compared with a group of children with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss (DANS) and users of CI. (AU)
