Abstract

The high rates of infractions committed by teenagers have caused interest and concern. Most studies on the subject focus only on issues related to the family. Thus, other institutions of socialization of adolescents, such as school and peers, are not much investigated. In that sense, this work is interested to study the aspects related to school, since recent research has shown that "juvenile delinquency" is strongly associated with maladjustment to the demands and expectations of the school environment, being this relation stronger than the relation with family problems. This research aims to characterize the regulation of the delinquent conduct of adolescents by the school in the sociocultural context of Brazil and, secondarily, contribute to the process of adjustment of the scales related to the evaluation of Social Regulation, under the theory of Marc Le Blanc. The data will be collected through the application of the Scale "SCHOOL" from the MASPAQ Inventory. The participants of the study will be 60 adolescents, being 30 adjudicated (Group 1) and 30 non-adjudicated (Group 2). For Le Blanc, the regulation made by the school is based on three complementary mechanisms: academic performance, relationship with the school and school embarrassment. Each of these conditions is analyzed in its various aspects by MASPAQ, which enables to evaluate the student's level of adaptation and how the regulation of conduct is made by the school. Therefore, it is hoped with this research to collect data on these issues, related to the Brazilian reality, since there are few national studies about the regulation of the conduct in adolescence by the school and its impact on personal and social development of students.
